ICC-WTO Small Business Champions initiative - Opportunity for SMEs «open to export»

As part of the ongoing ICC-WTO Small Business Champions initiative, the Institute of Export & International Trade has launched the «Open to Export International Business Awards» – an exciting opportunity for any small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to win US$ 5,000 cash towards their business plans and gain a range of practical information and advice on exporting.

To participate, here’s what the SMEs need to do:

  • Go to «Open to Export»
  • Complete an Export Action Plan by 10 August 2018
  • 10 SME finalists will then be invited to pitch to an international panel of expert judges at the WTO Public Forum in October in Geneva, Switzerland. One winner will be granted the cash prize.

Background

The ICC-WTO Small Business Champions initiative is designed to provide a platform for large companies and representative bodies – including chambers of commerce – to develop projects to help SMEs to do business across borders. Projects have already been launched by Google, Mercado Libre and Brazil’s National Confederation of Industry, among others – More infomaation here.

Open to Export is a free online information service from The Institute of Export & International Trade, dedicated to helping small UK businesses get ready to export and expand internationally. Their proposal to the ICC-WTO Small Business Champions initiative was accepted in March 2018 – More information here.
